Sisters: The History Bridges


Technique:

I made two molds and suspended them in mid air, using small pieces of horse rib bone to hold them apart. Over all this I layered highly beaten paper pulp, applying many layers over a two week period. I placed the thorns before the last three layers were added. After drying, I removed the mold. I carved the wooden tips and attached them with paper pulp. I combined pure dry pigments and hand applied them. I burnished the surface with a stone
